Albanians had not only problems with language, alpahabet and orthography, but difficults of national name. It is very hard to name an Albanian, without insuliting him in the process. Turks called them “Arnauts”. In Europe, the usual name by which Greeks and Serbs called them was “Arbanesi”. They called them selves “Shiptars”.
